may the force be with you....

the boys (& john) love star wars...mommy could really care less. however, on friday nights, there is a star wars cartoon (i think its called clone wars) that comes on @ 9:00pm. this is really past their bedtimes, but they love to watch it, so we let them stay up as a treat. noah is so funny because he likes to hum the theme song. drew likes to watch all the crazy characters with funny names i can not pronounce (or spell)! well, this week, we decided to let the boys pull out their new sleeping bags and "camp out" in the den. they had a blast eating popcorn and snuggling down in their bags. they were soooo cute, i tried to snap a picture...wouldn't you know, my camera was no where to be found, so i had to settle with john's blackberry. the picture quality isn't the greatest, but you get the idea...

only my kid....

noah can only be described as unique. he is a totally different child than drew. noah loves to play and has a pretty good imagination. he's very stubborn and demanding. once he gets his mind set on something, there's no changing it. It's crazy because his vocabulary and speech far exceed his age....so, I often find myself trying to "reason" with a 3 year old! Noah is not a child who likes to snuggle and doesn't give out kisses freely. However, on the rare occasion he decides to be super sweet, you better watch out...you might get a cavity! recently, he has started saying

"mommy, you know what?"
"what, noah?"
"i love you."
"i love you too!"
"thanks mommy"

it gets me everytime. bless his little heart...

last night, noah was playing in the den. his little face just lights up when drew actually plays with him - with his toys. right now, his most favorite toy is his batcave, which has about a zillion little pieces. but, last night, it wasn't the batcave that had noah entertained...

holy birthday cake, batman!

the first big event in 2009 was noah's birthday. noah turned 3 last saturday. its not really fair to have a birthday right after such a big holiday....i really do feel sorry for the little guy! but, thats the hand God gave him, so we make it work...even if his own momma gets caught up with the holidays and doesn't plan too well for his party. anywho...i decided that since it was right after christmas that a home party was the way to go this year. since noah loves to dress up in his batman costume, i thought it would be fun if all the little kids came to the party dressed as their favorite super hero! they were so cute, and i think they all got a kick outta it too! so, my house was invaded with 8 little batmans and spidermans...check out a few pics from the party!

Happy Birthday, Batman!

meet the players...

I figured I needed to do a little catch up...so, I wanted to introduce the players of Team Brock...

Team Brock actually started with me and John. Some people know the story of how John and I met. Others don’t… It’s not very romantic, but when all is said and done…it worked! I was actually still in high school. I had a friend, who was dating John’s cousin, and insisted that I meet John. I kinda blew her off, and did not really think too much about this “opportunity”. Then, she called me one evening and told me I had to come to her house because John was on his way over to meet me (oh, the high school drama!!). So I went…and I waited…and I waited…I was just about to leave, when here came John. He seemed nice, and shy, and his smile and dimples were pretty cute, too! We talked for about 30 minutes, and since it was a school night, I had to go home. My friend, Morgan, arranged a double date for the following week. That date happened on January 12, 1995…We’ve been together since.

Fast forward a couple years. On December 31, 1999, we were married. We truly had a fairy tale wedding! We rang in the New Year and new millennium as husband and wife, surrounded by our friends and family!

On May 29, 2003 welcomed John Andrew Brock into our family. Drew weighed in at 5lbs, 13.4oz. He was so little, and from the first moment, we were wrapped around his tiny finger! Currently, Drew is in Kindergarten, and loves it!

Noah Crawford Brock came into this world on January 3, 2006. At 8lbs, 14 oz., he was a little chunk! What a difference 3 pounds makes! From the very beginning, Noah dominated the show. He was and still is quite a fireball! Noah goes to preschool, and although he still asks to stay home with his GiGi, he does like his friends and school!

Recently, there has been a new addition to the Brock Household. Caramel Sundae Brock came to live with us in November. Being part dachshund, and part Beagle, makes her a Doxle. (
http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/doxle.htm for more info on Doxles) Whatever breed she is, she’s a mess! Sundae is actually Drew’s puppy, but she shows no favoritism! She’s all puppy, but loves to snuggle up!

So, that’s the story of us….Team Brock. Together, we live in Easley, SC and love spending time together. I’m pretty sure all the player will be the star of many blogs to come!

new year, new beginnings...

i thought I'd try this out. the new year brings new opportunities for change. i love my family, and i love to share our adventures with everyone. i love to take pictures, and i love to show my family off as well. so, my thought was why not have a central location where i can share our stories, and pictures all in one place? i've tried this before, but for whatever the reason at the time, it didn't work...anyway, with the start of a new year, i figured, why not make this a new years resolution? so...here goes nothing! cross your fingers!! oh...and many new year!!
